The Nike Air Max Light is coming back in its original colorway. This style made its first appearance in 1989, and acted as inspiration for the design of the Air Max 90.
Keeping major features of the Air Max 1, the Air Max Light sees the signature bubble unit in the midsole, and likewise, the “Nike Air” motifs can be found on the tongue as well as at the rear. A contrasting combination of white, navy and “Sports Red” takes over the uppers; the navy Swoosh and nubuck overlay embellishes the vintage white body. An electrifying “Sports Red” coats the insole, lining and the lacestays, finishing-up the retro look of the Air Max Light.
The Air Max Light will be available on January 10 at select Nike retailers like atmos, and on Nike.com.
Earlier this week, Nike announces the drop of the Nike Air Max 90 “White Storm”.
The enlarged jewel Swooshes are the standout feature on the latest iterations of Air Max 1. The black colorway features a subtle, iridescent Swoosh, similar to the grey/pink Swoosh of the pink colorway. The tan colorway by contrast features a translucent Swoosh flecked with gold glitter.
The Air Max 1 has for a long time played host to Nike’s more creative Swooshes. The most recent images reflect a playful treatment of the logo that animates the classic silhouette. The theme continues throughout the sneakers. Most notably, the tan colorway extends its glittery sheen beyond the Swoosh to the tongue. The detailing on the tongue of the black and pink colorways reflect their respective Swooshes.
